ARTIST STATEMENTS
For over twenty years Astrid Fitzgerald's work has explored the challenge of visualizing the principles of philosophical geometry – the Golden Mean Ratio, the Fibonacci series and the link between number and how the universe was formed and maintains order. The works on exhibition are from the series "All is Number: Number is All — Homage to Pythagoras and the Forms of Creation."
Kim Alderman is a multidisciplinary artist and teacher, working primarily with clay to bring images of the feminine into consciousness. She moves comfortably beyond bounds of time and space only to return with a form to contain shakti, or prima materia, configured as the vessel. The works in this exhibition — images on claybord — are part of an ongoing study of the psychology and symbolism of the vessel archetype.
